Things to Learn from a Child

Sometimes I wonder why we always want to return back to our childhood. Why we miss our childhood days? The reason behind this is growing up takes away the possessions we had during our childhood. The carefree attitude, living life to its fullest, expressing ourselves openly, to forgive easily, giving something with open heart, being happy in every situation and most of all loving unconditionally. All these qualities slowly fade away as we grow up.

There are many things that adults should learn from their younger selves like:

  1. Be Confident

Children are more confident than adults. They speak their heart out. Adults really need to learn this thing from children. Not worrying about the consequences just speak what you feel. Or simply do what you want to do. You’ll be surprised to see a confident version of yourself.

  1. Be Happy

Being happy in every situation reduces your problems to half. Have you seen a child having wounds on his knee and still running like a ninja? It’s because he’s not worried about his wounds but busy and happy in his playing. Learn to be happy always and keep others happy. For being happy is the secret of a happy life.

  1. Be Innovative

Adults never get out of their comfort zone whereas children are never afraid of trying the thing they have never tried before. Never fear to try new things. If it works, it’s good for you. But if it fails you’ll have a lesson what not to repeat.

  1. Forgive and Forget

Forgiving is the best deed. Children fight among themselves, not talk to each other for some time and on the next day they become the best buddies again and play with each other. Children easily forgive one another and forget what happened among them. If you forgive someone it means that you value the person and not their mistakes. It means that you forget their mistake and give them a second chance. So forgive and forget and have a fresh start just like a new morning comes after every dark night.

  1. Nurture Friendship

In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. – Khalil Gibran

Children never fear to make new friends. Similarly they never forget their old friend ones they find the new one. They love all their friends equally. Children always nurture their friendship and adults should do this as well.

  1. Love Your Life

No complaints, No demands, this is how children live their life. That’s why they love their life. And that’s why we all want to be a child again. Never complain about your problem because they come to teach you. And never demand anything, for someday you’ll definitely get more than what you were demanding.

  1. Don’t Worry About the Future

Children don’t have any future plans or any goals set to achieve. But you do set your goals, do have your future plans but worrying about the future, don’t forget to live in your present, to enjoy your present; because a moment once gone is lost forever.

  1. Love Unconditionally

Try to love someone without expecting anything in return. This is what love is all about. Look at the tree which gives you shade when you are exhausted in the sunlight, it never expects anything in return, for love is all about giving and not taking.

Try to learn these things from a child to bring more clarity and joy to your adulthood.
