Now you want to tell me that I am wrong and you are too smart to fall into this trap because you read the nutrition facts label on the packaging of foods before you buy them!
However, this can be sometimes misleading as what’s written there doesn’t reflect the real nutritious value of these products if there is any. Because real healthy food, which is generally unprocessed, doesn’t need packaging to tell you how good they are or convince you to buy it! But anyway, reading the nutrition facts label is also not helpful in recognizing FAKE foods!
Yes, my dear, marketing campaigns have been literally brainwashing the consumers so that they are ultimately forced to unconsciously accept some fake foods as good nutritious ones, while they are actually a minefield of serious health problems.
Today, I will reveal the truth about the three fake foods that you use the most.
How would you make your French fries without a vegetable oil?
Of course, no kitchen is empty of vegetable oil! We use it for cooking, baking, salad dressings and mainly for frying.
However, Have you ever noticed that your vegetable oil is far from natural?
Almost all commercial vegetable oils are refined. Indeed, they undergo a highly intensive mechanical and chemical process that includes several stages, namely: degumming, neutralization, decolourization, deodorization, and winterization.
This results in losses of nutritionally viable components such as tocopherol and sterols and leads to the formation of trans fatty acid, increasing the risk of heart disease. Furthermore, The oxidation factor makes these oils more likely to break down into cancer-causing free radicals within the body.
Good vegetable oil is one that is organic and non-refined. It is instead extracted in a much healthier process, a process of first cold-pressed oil. In this process, seeds are not tortured at high temperatures or subjected to harsh chemicals. Therefore, the oil does not lose out on naturally occurring Vitamin E or tocopherol. It maintains its levels of essential fatty acids namely omega-3 and omega-6 and is devoid of trans fat and saturated fats.
For instance, Unrefined extra virgin olive oil has a distinct taste and colour and is very beneficial for your health because it is high in phenolic antioxidants that neutralize free radicals. Argan oil is also very rich in essential nutrients and has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Dipping your bread into these two oils for breakfast is an excellent way to reap their benefits while enjoying their great taste.

Yes, It is just a completely unhealthy substitute for butter!
If you are one of the people who used to spend their holidays in the countryside with their grandparents during childhood, you must probably have closely seen how genuine butter is made!
Your grandmother milks the cow while you are standing nearby, watching how fresh raw milk gets out of the cow’s cattle to fill the bucket. She then skims the cream from the milk, churns it for a while and butter is magically formed. What a simple and natural process!
However, the way Margarine is manufactured is more complex and required advanced technology. It is primarily made up of a vegetable oil base such as sunflower oil, corn oil, soybean oil or more than one vegetable oil derivation.
As you know, vegetable oils are liquid at room temperature, while margarine is designed to taste and look similar to butter! Therefore, scientists of the food industry have found a process that allows to change the structure of vegetable oils and make them solid just like butter.
This chemical process used to harden oils and increase their melting points is called Hydrogenation. During this transformation, some molecules in the oils are altered creating new kind of trans fats that are extremely damaging to your body and have been linked to many cardiovascular diseases.
On the other hand, besides the fact that vegetable oils are predominantly rich in dangerous polyunsaturated fats that are easily oxidised and can cause serious health problems, some chemicals are added to the margarine before the packaging. These include Butylated hydroxytoluene preservatives (or BHT) that were related to cancer and tumour promotion according to scientific research. But also some synthetic forms of vitamins that margarine manufactures add to fortify their nutrient-poor products. These non-natural vitamins can have detrimental effects on your health.
I bet that you have already tried ramen noodles, at least once, just like everybody else did! Am I right?
What makes most people like these instant noodles too much? is it the unbeatable spicy taste? the cheap price? or the fact that they are very easy, quick to prepare and filling?
Having all these advantages close at hand at a very low price is supposed to raise your suspiciousness and make you sceptical about buying such a product, because, believe it or not, ramen noodles, are fake and here is why.
It was discovered that large quantities of instant noodles especially the ones produced in China were made with rotten grains and poisonous additives. Worse still, some were even made of plastic!
If you doubt this news, let me tell you that apart from that, instant noodles are always incredibly unhealthy.
A study conducted on Asian people who ate processed ramen noodles showed that they were more likely to develop metabolic syndrome, which is the name for a group of risk factors that raises your risk for heart disease and other health problems, such as diabetes and stroke.
These Instant noodles are particularly unhealthy because they contain tertiary-butyl hydroquinone (TBHQ), a petroleum industry byproduct used as a food preservative. It doesn’t only have zero nutritional value but it is also indigestible. Ramen noodles are as well incredibly high in calories, sodium and saturated fat.
Always remember that your health is very much in your hands. A little reckless behaviour like consuming margarine, refined vegetable oils or instant noodles over and over, can make it at risk. The risk is too high that it may cost your life.
